Elobau offers a comprehensive range of products to protect both man and machine in the field of Machine Safety. Customers have the advantage of buying a complete system from one manufacturer. For machine guard monitoring elobau can offer proximity-effect safety sensors with good misalignment tolerance making them very easy to mount onto machines. The systems are approved to EN 954 and, depending upon type of control unit, meet categories from 1 – 4. The sensors are available in many different formats, one of them having PTB (Ex) approval. Depending upon the version, up to 32 sensors can be monitored by a single control unit and some versions also have the facility to monitor external contactors. For guards that have to be locked there is a shot-bolt unit in the programme which is monitored for both guard closed and locked, by a control unit. Up to 12 shot-bolts can be monitored by this one control unit, at the same time as normal machine guard sensors and external contactors. For emergency stop button monitoring there is a range of emergency stop relays that can be used as stand-alone units or in conjunction with elobau control units as part of an integrated system. The latest development is micro-processor based and is quite sophisticated in that it can monitor machine guard sensors as well as emergency stop buttons and external contactors, all at the same time.
